2026 International Bid Round

Fourteen blocks in some of the region's most prolific basins

Egypt has launched the 2026 international bid round for oil and gas exploration across 14 blocks in the Mediterranean Sea and the Western Desert, inviting qualified companies to bid for exploration and exploitation rights.

The round is run through the Egypt Upstream Gateway, the digital platform that provides online access to data packages, bid documents and submission. Blocks range from acreage close to existing infrastructure, where discoveries can be tied in quickly, to frontier areas with significant untested potential.

Bid rounds remain the cornerstone of the strategy to attract investment, intensify exploration and sustain national production.
